Millennium Physician Group officially launched their "Tobacco Free" policy on Wednesday February 1, 2012.  Millennium Physician Group is proud to join the more than 2,890 U.S. hospitals, health systems, and physician offices that are Tobacco Free. 

Going completely "Tobacco Free" means that Millennium patients, employees, providers and vendors are no longer allowed to smoke or use tobacco products at any of Millennium's primary care, walk-in medical center, imaging, lab or business office locations. Additionally, Millennium's providers and employees are not be able to use tobacco products during their shift, which includes lunch and break periods. 

Millennium Physician Group announced their 'Tobacco Free' plans to their employees back in November of 2011.  "We wanted to give our employees enough time and opportunities to quit smoking before the policy went into place," says Geurt Peet, Chief Executive Officer for Millennium Physician Group.  "We are proud that most of our employees took the initiative to quit tobacco before the official launch date."

"With so many health risks associated with tobacco use, all of our team at Millennium should set the example of a healthy work environment, especially in our role as caregivers in our community," says Peet.  "Our end goal is to create a healthier environment for everyone who works within or visits any of our locations."

Millennium Physician Group has offices from North Port to Naples and all are now completely Tobacco Free as of Feb. 1, 2012.
